Placebo or not, a green smoothie is a great way to start your morning and get you in the mindset of eating to benefit your acne. If you can start including a green smoothie in your morning routine, it is the first step in introducing healthy habits which can subsequently become a routine (and benefit you even more long-term). The below recipe is one of our favourite smoothies and contains an abundance of goodness to kickstart your morning.
1.5 Cups Coconut Water (or water)
1.5 Cups Spinach
2 tbsp flaxmeal
Frozen mango pieces (no preservatives or added sugar)
1/2 frozen banana (substitute: 1/2 an apple)
Juice of ½ lemon
2 tsp Grated Ginger
Supplement (in the F.ACNE program we suggest certain supplements which have been scientifically proven to help in the management of acne. If you have a supplement which you have to take on a daily basis, adding it to your smoothie is a great way to ensure you're including it in your routine)
Blend in a food processor or blender until smooth!
